The Colour Sessions is an online colour workshop for creatives working across film, television, interiors and spatial design.
This online evening session is designed for those working within, or aspiring to work within, Film, Television and Spatial Design who would like to develop a more confident and practical understanding of colour and how it behaves on camera. The course will take place as a single 1.5 hour online session and is limited to a small group so we can learn together in an open and conversational environment.
Particularly suited to Post-Graduates, Junior Art Department crew, emerging Designers and creatives moving into screen-based work, the session will explore how colour is used as a storytelling and visual tool within production design and set decoration.

Colour is one of the most powerful tools within visual storytelling, yet it is often approached instinctively rather than strategically. Throughout the session, we’ll discuss practical working methods used across Film and Television productions. You will leave the session with a clearer understanding of how to use colour with confidence across Set Decoration and Design projects..

Join me online for an evening exploring how colour shapes character, atmosphere and storytelling, and how to translate a palette into practical decisions across production design and set decoration.
Over 2.5 hours, including a short break, we’ll work through colour theory, film and television references, and examples from production, with plenty of room for questions and discussion.

Whether you’re developing a palette for an entire production or choosing the objects for a single set, we’ll explore how individual colour choices work together and influence what an audience sees and feels.
The workshop is suited to designers, set decorators, art directors, buyers, stylists and junior Art Department crew, as well as interiors and spatial design creatives interested in working for the screen.
Above all, it’s a chance to spend an evening talking colour with fellow creatives and leave with practical ideas to bring into your own work.
