I LOVE DOING DISHES | FRIEND
'I Love Doing Dishes' was created by Wieden+Kennedy London for Finish. It won GOLD at the Kinsale Sharks 2017, and was shortlisted at the Cannes Lions Festival 2017 fora Film Craft award.
For this story of dishwashing chaos told through song, we built and Decorated a total of 14 different kitchens, each with their own flair and style over at Black Island Studios in West London.
With limited prep time, we were focussed on sourcing not only a large amount of crockery and cutlery, but most importantly dressing props and interior decorations that told contrasting stories of lives lived around the world.
The spot was underpinned by the suggestion that people who don’t have dishwashers live in absolute kitchen chaos. Plastics, ceramics, glassware and wooden items piled from floor to ceiling in some sets, encouraging us to add layers upon layers of props!
We had a separate stage dedicated to our sprawling prop store as we made use of over 4000 pieces of crockery presented on seemingly endless trestle tables ready for client selection. 1000’s of pieces of hand-selected cutlery and decorative accessories were picked by myself and our assistant to give us the broadest options to style on the day.
Thanks to Mark Connell and the MADE Workshop team for having me join them on this really lovely project.
